Every provider starts you on the lowest dose and steps up every four weeks. Most people spend most of the year on a higher dose, so the starting price tells you very little about what you'll pay.

Face to face in NI, or online with delivery
There are two ways to get treatment here. Some people want to sit down with a pharmacist or dietitian. Others are happy with an online consultation and a cold-chain delivery. Both should check your weight properly before prescribing.

Four checks before you order
Weight loss injections are prescription-only medicines. These checks take a few minutes and protect you from unsafe sellers.
Read the safety guide- The pharmacy is on the right register. Northern Ireland pharmacies are registered with the PSNI. Pharmacies in Great Britain are registered with the GPhC.
- Your weight is checked properly. GPhC guidance from February 2025 says online prescribers must verify your weight independently, for example by video. A questionnaire on its own isn't enough.
- They deliver to NI, and keep it cold. Some Great Britain pharmacies don't deliver here. Confirm delivery to your postcode and ask about temperature-controlled packaging.
- It isn't from social media. The MHRA warns that prescription weight loss medicines are being advertised and sold illegally on social media.
Can you get weight loss injections on the NHS in Northern Ireland?
Not routinely yet.
In June 2026 the Department of Health announced the first phase of its Regional Obesity Management Service, for adults with a BMI over 45 and at least one related condition. A separate programme covers some people with a BMI of 30 to 39.9. Two in three adults here are overweight or obese, according to the Health Survey NI 2024/25, but the new service starts with those at the highest BMIs. For most people, private treatment is the only option for now.

How much do weight loss injections cost in Northern Ireland?
Among the providers we list with a full Mounjaro price list, the 2.5 mg starting pen costs from £178.95 and the 15 mg pen costs £309.99 to £359 per four weeks. Some providers charge less per pen if you sign up for 3, 6 or 12 months. A year stepping up to 10 mg works out at about £3,420 to £3,847. Can I get Mounjaro or Wegovy on the NHS in Northern Ireland?
Not routinely at the moment. In June 2026 the Department of Health announced phase one of a Regional Obesity Management Service for adults with a BMI over 45 and at least one related condition, such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure needing medication. Do online pharmacies deliver weight loss injections to Northern Ireland?
Some do and some don't. Evernu says it delivers across Northern Ireland. HealthExpress, on the other hand, says on its delivery page that it cannot deliver to Northern Ireland, and many others don't say either way. Check before you complete a consultation, and ask how the pens are kept cold in transit.
Who can get weight loss injections?
Mounjaro and Wegovy are licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 to 29.9 with at least one weight-related health condition. A prescriber must check your weight properly before prescribing, and they make the final decision. Check your BMI against the criteria.
Is Mounjaro better than Wegovy?
In the SURMOUNT-5 trial, people on Mounjaro (tirzepatide) lost an average of 20.2% of their body weight over 72 weeks, compared with 13.7% on Wegovy (semaglutide). How do I check a pharmacy is genuine?
Pharmacies in Northern Ireland should be on the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) register. Online pharmacies based in Great Britain should be on the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) register.
